Vishwa Ayurveda Parishad- An Introduction

Ayurveda, the science of life has taken off health and happiness of ailing humanity since eternity. It is a system that is built upon blissful awareness, logic, experience, knowledge, dynamism and responsive activism of Vaidya (Ayurvedic physicians).
It derives its strength from committed Vaidya (Ayurveda physicians), dedicated upasthata (nursing attendants), effective and safe dravyas (drugs) and loyal rogis (patients). Globally recognized as Traditional Indian Medicine, it not only takes care of health but it is intensely integrated with rich cultural heritage and ethos of India. Popularly accepted as a holistic health system it is a zero biomedical waste system of health it is an environment friendly health system that addresses all possible aspects of health i.e. body, mind and spirit. It’s denigration at any stage is not the loss of Ayurveda and Bharta only, but is a loss of the suffering humanity throughout the world.

VISHWA AYURVEDA PARISHAD (VAP), as evident from its name is a global organization of all possible stake holders of Ayurveda. VAP derives its strength from rich heritage and strong lineage of leadership of Ayurveda. It strongly believes that strength of any system lies in the individuals practicing it. As an organization VAP is committed to be a body of excellent teachers, researchers, authors, clinicians, entrepreneurs and social reformers (TRACES) who will work tirelessly to take Ayurveda to zenith of its glory collectively and individually. VAP is devoted for a healthy and happy individual, society, nation and world. It has chalked out following goals for it:
1. To identify outstanding TRACES (Teachers, Researchers, Authors, Clinicians, Entrepreneurs and Social Reformers) who are working in field of Ayurveda and bring them on single platform to utilize their experience and knowledge in further development of excellent TRACES.
2. To identify immediate and remote challenges in field of healthcare system and come up with dependable and sustainable solutions for them on basis of Ayurveda principles and practices.
3. To identify all possible opportunities and utilize them to propagate and promote Ayurveda across the globe.
4. To safeguard interests of Ayurveda and its stakeholders by keeping close watch and timely interventions on health policies, emerging trends, prevalent practices and rules throughout world.
5. To safeguard respect of vaidyas (Ayurveda physicians) at all costs.

To achieve above goals VAP as an organization follows path of continuous dialogue, discussions and deliberations as reflected in its organizational mantra which reads-

Vishwa Ayurveda Parishad is working hard to achieve its immediate goal for


A. Declaration of AYURVEDA as National Health System
B. Including Ayurveda as integral part of AYUSHMAN BHARAT- PMJAY
C. Adequate budget allotment for development of Ayurveda at central and state level.
D. Separate Ayurveda ministry and directorate in every state.
E. Establishing at least one Ayurveda University in every state.
F. The uniformity in central and state government services for Ayurvedic academicians, professionals, research scholars and medical officers and in the selection of students.
G. Establishment of new Government Ayurvedic Colleges and research centers in unrepresented States.
H. The disparities with reference to the financial and social status of teaching faculties, medical officers and students etc. must be eradicated.

Vishwa Ayurveda Parishad Main Achievements

  Personality and Skill development camps

Ayurveda Kaushlam residential camps are being successfully conducted for one day to 7 days duration to create awareness regarding deep study of Ayurveda, sympathy for diseased personals of society, self -respect, honor for moral values and nationality etc. human virtues including marma, kshara sutra , panchkarma, Rakta mokhan, Agnikarm,panchgavya etc. therapies, focusing on the scientific outlook and hands on practical training. In these camps the new Ayurveda scholars and students are provided the best knowledge with the help of well established Ayurvedic experts of the various fields. Carrier counselling and know how for establishing clinics, drugs manufacturing units etc are being provided.

 Charak Statue at Charekha

It’s believed that Maharishi Charak spend some time in villege Charekha near Kotdwar Uttrakhand about 7,000 feet from sea level.On 5th June 2018 VAP installed a marble statue of Maharishi Charak at Charekha in presence of more than 300 scholars from 22 Ayurveda institutions across 7 states with all vedic rituals. VAP organises monthly camps there for the near by villagers.

 Study circle

A unique and first of its kind program called as Study circle was initiated in NIA Jaipur to polish and enhance the academic skills of students which is now being organised in different educational institutions across the country.

 Publication of Journal

1. Journal of Vishwa Ayurved Parishad (JVAP) is a good source of information and learning about Ayurveda having ISSN 0976- 8300.
2. JVAP is published every two months with the latest articles on the outcomes of academic research and development, from scholars of Ayurveda.
3. The JVAP has news, happenings and all the latest information about Ayurveda.

 Samyojanam

A three days workshop cum seminar was successfully conducted in the month of November 2018 at BHU Varanasi with special focus on Ayurveda youth and the event was named as IAYC- International Ayurveda Youth Conclave. because of Covid outbreak such activities were limited to online webinars only.

 Research Methodology Workshops

Research methodology workshops are being organised at different places since 2017. A two days workshop is the annual event at Delhi to address the difficulties and new trends in research standards.

 Regular Events

Following events are being celebrated regularly at different part of the country Maha Shivratri, Intention Women’s Day,Varsh Pratipada, Yoga Day, Charak jayanti, Ayurveda Day,Dhanwantari Jayanti, by organising medical camps, seminars and public talks.

 Lakshya

Lakshy is very popular and unique initiative of Vishwa Ayurveda Parishad for conducting Pre PG mock entrance examination for ayurveda post graduate courses. This examination is conducted on all india level and students enroll themselves for real time examination to test their preparation and ability before the actual entrance test. For last two years this test is being conducted ONLINE.

 Charak Vananchal swasthaya Seva Yatra

Charak Vananchal swasthaya Seva Yatra started in 2018. This five days yatra is organized every year from 1st July to 5th July in which approximately 450 senior and junior doctors from all the speciality participate including Ayurveda, Allopathy, Homeopathy. Vishwa Ayurveda Parishad, National Medicos Organization, Arogya Bharti and other organizations take part with the coordination of Sewa Bharti, Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram, Sewa Samarpan Sansthan. It is organized in the remote Vananchal area of U.P., Bihar, Jharkhand, M.P. and Chhatisgarh.
The aim of the yatra is to sensitize the doctors towards society, screening of people, identification of disease, timely referral, treat the patients, survey of area, health awareness, identification of prevalent diseases etc. It also includes knowledge of social and economical issues, train common people for local herbs for common ailments, identification of local herbs, opportunity to cultivate medicinal herbs, yoga practice etc.
